Through color changes and enhancements, and the addition of new religious symbols that add spiritual power to battle decorations, Master Artist Kathleen Moody has transformed “War Pony,” a tribute to the legendary fighting spirit of the Comanche Indians and The Trail’s all-time bestselling figurine, into a unique and entirely original design.

The artistic inspiration for a Painted Pony often comes at unexpected times. This artist was enjoying a meal at a favorite restaurant in Maui when she noticed a picture on the wall of a woman wearing a beautiful flower lei around her neck. Her look was both calming and relaxing, a feeling the artist wanted to recreate by imagining a beautiful lei-draped horse walking along the beaches of Maui, taking in the soothing sounds of the ocean waves.

"What happens when a beloved pet dies?" It's said there is a special bridge of many colors connecting Heaven and Earth where there are meadows and hills with lush green grass, and the spirits of our deceased furry friends - dogs, cats and horses - run and play together… until the day comes when we are joyfully reunited with them. Then we cross over Rainbow Bridge together, never to be parted again.
